The customer requirements were therefore to rethink the apartment under a new point of view , that was no longer that of a traditional house. How to transform a house of 125 square meters into two apartments had them carry out different functions at the same time? On the one hand the house more "public" where guests receive, from the other hand dwelling more intimate and private, preserving the unity. The project interprets the theme working conceptually with two strips parallel to each other: the first where are concentrated the most intimate places of the house or in fact the services and bedrooms, the second one where you gather all the public functions which look at the outside, to a large terrace. The border between the two strips are transformed into the “container”, characterized by thick strips of wood that is integrated lighting that adapts according to domestic duties it meets. The new container element also includes two sliding doors in wood and tissue that according to use and the need to divide the house into two independent apartments, thus ensuring a high degree of flexibility of the spaces. The central kitchen island becomes the articulation between the two possible apartments in order to be used in all the conformations of the space required. (translated by Irene Bonifacino)
